Stumble Bum Fridays

I found these terrific illustrators/artists/designers by spending a few minutes with StumbleUpon. These three really caught my eye, top left is the work of Royal Art Lodge, an art collective based in Canada, lots of great, funny sloppy work from a bunch of different artists, no contact info except email. At upper right is the work of Mel Kadel, not sure exactly where she’s based (LA?), as usual, no real contact info on her website, which is a bone I have to pick with many illustrators and designers nowadays. Putting that minor quibble aside, I have sen her work before, and really enjoy it. It uses the twee style that is in fashion to good effect, it is dark and moody and creepy, yet is still sweet. At bottom is another artist that I was already familiar with, great James Joyce, the UK based designer and illustrator and proprietor of One Fine Day. Again, I find his work to be funny, very clever, and well designed. It’s well worth a look, and he has some really sweet prints and product for sale. Great website design, with an address and contact info!!!
