Jack Kemp. Shitting Out Footballs.

With the passing of football/taxcut hero Jack Kemp, I searched my sketchbooks from 1996 and came up with these sketches on the Dole/Kemp campaign. Most people will remember Jack Kemp as the sunny face of supply side economics and enterprise zones, a relentless tax-cut promoter, ex-quarterback and congressman from Buffalo. I always think of Jack Kemp as Bob Dole’s running mate and the endless photo ops throwing a football around, which always struck me as a disjointed idea given the fact that the head of the ticket didn’t have the use of his right arm due to his war wounds. I’ll always think of Jack Kemp shitting out footballs on a tarmac in heaven.
