Illustration of the Day: The Very Ugly Man

The image on top is an artists impression of the latest suspect in the Madeleine McCann case, described as a “very ugly man”. It is indeed a very haunting image. It immediately brought to my mind the drawings at bottom by Tom Wolfe from the book The Kandy-Kolored Tangerine-Flake Streamline Baby, which show teenage male hairdos from the early 1960s, the ducktail tease, flat top, basic ducktail, and the Chicago Boxcar.

Hmmmm…the suspect couldn’t be Mr. Ducktail Tease all grown up and vacationing in Portugal could it?
