American Affairs Desk: Cheney Word Cloud of Torture

Well it looks like this is the end of Rico. After over two years of writing and drawing American Affairs Desk, this will probably be the last one that sees print. I had a great run, but for financial reasons The Stranger dropped the strip, and my agreement with The Cornell Sun has run it’s course. Lot’s of better cartoonists and writers have faced this before, so I don’t feel bad. I am going to keep up the strip on a semi-regular basis right here on the Drawmark Blog, and who knows, if I get my shit together I’ll take a run at syndicating the comic…if and when the newspaper business ever gets it’s shit together that is. Thanks to everyone who read it, who sent me hate mail and love letters, and the fine editors and art directors that took a chance on a strip with no recurring characters, no story arc, no real jokes or punchlines. A big tip o’ the hat to Aaron Edge who asked me to do it in the first place. It has been a blast. Thank you.
