Robert Grossman American Master

One of my absolute favorite illustrators is Robert Grossman, prolific artist with over 500 covers for Time, Newsweek, Rolling Stone, TV Guide, and The Nation, and on and on and on… Mr. Grossman has been churning out genius work since 1963! The piece at the top left on Jack Kennedy is from that era, and the piece at the top right is from as recent as a couple of weeks ago for Rolling Stone. For almost my entire lifetime his work has been there addressing the issues and figures of the day, and not just as an illustrator, but also as a writer, comic artist, painter, sculptor and Academy Award nominated filmmaker. He seems way to busy for any one human being and everywhere at once, and yet his work still has stunning technique, a deep intelligence and knowledge of his subject matter and of course a cutting humor. Robert Grossman is not just an illustrator that I like, he is a true American Master.
